FAQ
Why choose our equipment over name brand competitors?
One of the most significant advantages of our equipment is their cost-effectiveness. The purchase price of our mini excavators and mini skid steers is often significantly lower than that of US based competitors.
- Lower Initial Investment: For small contractors, landscapers, and DIY enthusiasts, the lower initial cost can be a game-changer. This affordability allows smaller business owners to invest in machinery without breaking the bank.
- Financing Options: We work with mainstream finance companies to provide attractive financing options, making it easier for buyers to acquire machinery.
- Diverse model range: Our manufacturers offer a wide range of models, catering to different needs and budgets. Whether you need a basic model for light tasks or a more advanced machine with higher horsepower and additional features, there is likely a machine that fits your requirements.
- Technological advancements: Many of our machines are equipped with state-of-the-art hydraulics, enhanced engines, and advanced digital control systems, aligning them more closely with US-based competitors. Additionally, our equipment complies with international emissions standards.
- Build Quality: Our manufacturers adhere to the stringent quality standards and have comparable durability and reliability as US based competitors. Often utilizing the same engines and in some cases hydraulic components.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes most Mini Excavators and Mini Skid-Steers we sell come with a 12 month manufacturer warranty for free parts replacement which covers major components with the exception of:
Normal wear and tear: This includes wear on cutting edges, teeth, hoses, bearings, tracks/tires and other parts.
Damage from misuse: This includes damage from accidents, negligence, improper installation, or improper maintenance.
Maintenance: This includes oil, filters, and other maintenance items.
Travel and labor: This includes expenses for travel, labor, or mileage.
The engine is covered by the engine manufacturer according to their specific warranty period which can vary by manufacturer.
How do I get replacement parts covered under warranty?
At H&Q Equipment, our commitment is to ensure your ongoing productivity. Should a covered part fail within the warranty period, please reach out to us via phone or email with proof of purchase, a description of the issue, and any supporting documentation. We will work with the manufacturer to facilitate a replacement for you.
How long does it take to get parts?
Most parts can typically be obtained within 5 to 14 days, depending on the manufacturer, although rare exceptions may occur.
We may have some spare parts in stock and readily available, IE Hour Meter, Quick Attach Bolts, Power Disconnect, Throttle Cables etc.
Do you provide maintenance or repairs?
At this time, we do not offer maintenance services; however, we hope to implement this as our business expands. Most of our customers successfully handle their own routine maintenance, which is typically straightforward for the equipment we provide.
We do not have repair technicians on staff, nor do we possess the infrastructure or sales personnel that many mainstream dealers have.
The benefit of this is that we can pass on cost savings to you when you purchase equipment from us.
On the downside, you will need to either conduct your own repairs or locate a reliable repair company to assist you if needed.
Please rest assured that we will do everything possible to help you obtain the necessary parts and provide technical assistance as well.
If you don't service or repair equipment is it reasonable to buy from you?
This decision is personal and will depend on your individual circumstances, so it may or may not align with your needs. I typically inform customers that choosing our equipment over a comparable new name-brand model, such as Bobcat, Kubota or Boxer etc. can lead to significant cost savings—often between $10,000 and $20,000 or more.
If you were to invest these savings, into a high-yield savings account, you could easily cover any future repair costs from that account. In my experience, you will come out well ahead financially by the end of your machine’s lifespan compared to purchasing a new comparable name brand unit which has a limited warranty (typically 12 months parts/labor).
Before launching my own business, I purchased a variety of new and used equipment. I frequently wondered if I could accept a 1-2% or lower risk of a major failure or costly issue. Most of the time, I felt comfortable with that risk and rarely needed to utilize the manufacturer’s warranty or the extended warranty when I chose to get one.
